Dove Pro Age Haircare

With the promise of 2x stronger hair, the Dove Pro Age Hair Therapy range is something I've had my eye on since it came out.

The lightweight formula drew me in further. Since I have super thin hair, anything that promises extra moisture - usually in anti breakage products - generally means greasy and fast.

Similar to the the Dove Pro Age body care range, all the vital ingredients are there to mend and care for your hair, with promises to nourish brittle hair and restore it to its previous fullness.

So like I previously said, the moisture is normally the thing to let these products down for me! Despite its light weight formula, the inclusion of micro moisture serum, to me is like bathing your hair in serum while you wash it, which isn't the best option for me.
I rarely put serum on my hair when dry, the only exception being moroccan oil every so often on the very tips when towel dry.

For me the lightweight formula just wasn't lightweight enough, and while both products together leave my hair really silky smooth, by the second day it's more greasy than it would usually be.
The shampoo lathers up really well and the conditioner only needs a little time on the hair to get to work. Thicker locks - by which I mean almost any, my hair is really that thin - would love these products.

In terms of the breakage, I'm well aware that a quick condition isn't magically going to seal the split ends back together, but it's always possible to make it feel that way!
My ends do feel really soft after using this and fly aways are a thing of the past, with an extra shiny finish to complete the look

For anyone that wouldn't describe their hair as super thin, give these a try if you're wanting a quick fix for breakage and a sheen to your hair. But for those of us unlucky enough to be dealt the thin hair gene, I wouldn't recommend them.

The Dove Pro Age Haircare range is available now, with both products £2.49 each.

Benefit Box O' Blush Lipgloss Coralista

A couple of weeks back at the Leeds Benefit Event the big reveal of their newest product was unveiled. The newest lip glosses, each one to match a Box O' Blush, the Box O' Blush Lip glosses.

With the release of Hervana being so near, unfortunately it didn't make the cut - a shame since it's my second favourite blush!

The packaging of both the lip glosses and the blush match, perfect to brighten up your make up bag, I absolutely love Benefit packaging.

The idea behind each lip gloss is to match to the blush - obviously. We all received the Coralista** shade, and although the above swatch may look like an overpowering coral, it applies much sheerer and gives a subtle coral hint to the lips.

The match is pretty close, especially with the difference in consistencies and they look great when paired together.
This is true with all the shades. The one I have my eye on is Dandelion, I fell in love with the blush and now the gloss is here to match.

My main dislike with glosses is the stickiness, even if claimed to be silky smooth, my hair will always find a way to stick to them.
The Benefit lip glosses are exceptionally smooth in application and feel great on. And what's better while my hair does attract to them, it doesn't get bound to my lips. Even on the windiest of days.

My favourites from the event were Coralista, Dandelion and Sugarbomb. With a shade to match each blush, the Benefit Box O' Blush lip glosses are set for release on June 28th, for £13.50 each.

There are some amazing HD pics of the rest of the collection - with swatches - on Musings of a Muse.

Will you be matching your blush to your lip gloss?

NEED nee LUST

I discovered Shop Dixi from Lydia (new must read!) and have got quite a few more items on my lust list. The great thing with this site is the majority is limited edition/vintage, so you get a rare piece for your wardrobe. I'm guessing this smock will be pretty oversized, so it'll look perfect over a bikini or belted with some uber tan for my upcoming holiday!

The quite infamous Levis shorts, from ARK. I know they are kind of the teenage uniform right now, but I finally tried them on last week and kind of fell in love. Also tried on Disco Pants for the first time and hated them on me, yaay for saving money!

The Xen Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe, enabled by Anna. I've never tried the brand and rarely stray from the rookie St Moriz but everyone is raving about this.

Shop Dixi again! I love dream catchers, I love piling my wrists with stringy bracelets. So they met and I fell in love.

Took a look inside Warehouse earlier this week for the first time in years and loved half of their stock. I settled on a t-shirt and some cute, dainty rings. I didn't have the energy to try on a play suit but I've yet to stop thinking about it.

This ring is very House of Harlow, with a colourful twist which is why I love it. I need to see it in person, otherwise I'm going the ASOS route for student discount!

What are your must haves recently?

Dove Pro Age Bodycare

I'm forever on the hunt for a new moisturiser. Body care is my least faithful item when it comes to brands, whatever is the new release or recommendation is where I'll head.

The Dove Pro Age range is one I've heard a lot about and was interested to try. The title would suggest it's all for wrinkle and age protection, but instead it offers a 'deep care complex' for your dry skin, to make it silky smooth.

The Dove Pro Age Nourishment Body Cream Oil** includes essential ingredients including olive oil to deeply nourish your skin. I'm lucky in that I have pretty normal skin on my body, so I can easily miss a few days of moisturising without dire consequences.

This moisturises so well that I can still feel the affects a day after. Upon application, you only need a small amount for it to sink in well and give you great feeling skin. You can easily apply too much which leaves an oily moisture to the skin, so take my advice with less is more!

It has a pretty inoffensive, neutral 'Dove' smell, but is verging on the sweeter side, which is unusual for Dove. I personally love it and it doesn't linger around for an overpowering scent.
Despite the inclusion of olive oil, you don't feel it with the right amount. It leaves a nice sheen to the skin, after blending out the creamy moisturiser.

The Dove Pro Age Nourishing Body Wash** is obviously the shower equivalent to the body oil. I always use my body wash with exfoliating gloves, helping it to lather up but also making sure I get an exfoliation every single shower.

I've used this with and without the gloves and on days when I've skipped moisturising I like to think this contributed to the feel of my skin. It lathers really well and has the same scent as the moisturiser, mildly sweet with the trademark Dove scent underneath.

This product boasts the NutriumMoisture ingredients, to sink into the skin and nourish while in the shower. I found myself leaving it on for a couple of minutes to get the full benefits. But I can't say it was particularly stand out from other moisturising body washes.

The Dove Pro Age range is available now, with the Dove Pro Age Nourishment Body Oil at £5.99 and the Dove Pro Age Nourishing Body Wash at £2.40

NAILS

Hours spent on Pinterest - new obsession - has got me inspired to revamp my nails. You only need to search 'nail art' to get lost in the amazing and the achievable. Below are a few of my creations, nothing too amazing just yet, but we need to start with baby steps!

I definitely want to try water marble nails, although past experiences haven't gone down too well. And the below floral print is so cute!

Leeds Benefit Event - Box O' Blush Lipglosses

One of the many highlights of blogging is the events, getting to mingle with other bloggers, seeing new faces and of course, getting to play with new products.

Yesterday Benefit invited bloggers along to Fibre Bar in Leeds to announce the release of their Benefit Box O' Blush Lipglosses. A lipgloss to match each Box o' Blush in the Benefit range - bar Hervana since it was released too late.

Check out Dan's blog for much better pictures!

The afternoon was split into two parts. We began by watching a demonstration of a makeover, including the new foundation - 3 years in the making! - and the new primer of course, including a brief run down of their customer ethos. All about Benefit always focus on the customer wants instead of pushing their products onto them. I couldn't agree more with my past experience of Benefit counters!

The second half was all about the brand, where it began, how it began and what keeps it going. The interesting fact that I took away from it, is that Benetint all came from exotic dancers in the 70s wanting something to enhance their nipples. True story.

We then had chance to have a play with the new lipglosses and have a chat with everyone. Perfect afternoon and it was lovely to meet some new (and old!) bloggers. I have fallen for the Dandelion lipgloss, just like I have the blush!

Our goody bag* to take away - how cute is the USB stick?! - including Coralista lipgloss. I'm going to get a separate review up on this as soon as I can! The rest of the lipglosses will be released on June 30th at £13.50 each.

Also, as a little present for you lovely lot - for the first 30 readers who go into Leeds House of Fraser and get a makeover at Benefit, followed by a purchase of any item, will get a present! You need to say you follow PELUXE when you go in.
I popped in after the event and the ladies at the counter were lovely, so you'll be in good hands!

And of course, if you can, get on board the Mascarathon. The marathon that will be running from Edinburgh to London in different stages, crossing through the whole of the North. More details on the Mascarathon site.

NE1's Newcastle Fashion Week FINALE

That's it, our nine days of events are done! That first event seems like an absolute age ago, yet the entire week went by so fast - if that makes any kind of sense.

I've had the opportunity to meet some brilliant people this week, both special guests and the people I've worked with. This years events were so much bigger than last year, so here's to a third to follow with bigger and better footsteps.

Sunday night was our closing party at Tup Tup Palace, we had Dizzee Rascal and DJ Fresh in attendance, as well as an exclusive catwalk from Fashion TV.

The catwalk featured clothes from Vivienne Westwood, set up right in the centre of the club. There were even more gorgeous pieces to end the week. It was the first catwalk that we weren't 100% involved in since Fashion TV pulled it off alone, so I had a relaxed experience sitting front row.
The night was topped with a VIP table for me and my colleagues from the week. First VIP experience!

I finally discovered the way of the hair donut. It's my new go to hair do and only cost an extra £1 from Primark. You could of course take the DIY route, which I only discovered after the purchase.

A huge thankyou to everyone involved with fashion week, like I said, there were some brilliant people to work with. Until next year...

NE1's Newcastle Fashion Week - Frock & Roll

Friday and day seven of NE1's Newcastle Fashion Week saw a first for us, with Frock & Roll. It's the first of its kind outside of London and it couldn't have run smoother! We had a selection stores collaborate with music acts to showcase some great talent and great fashion.

We had the likes of Lulu James, Karima Francis, Frankie & the Heartstrings and the Polarsets perform alongside Warehouse, Reiss, French Connection and Urban Outfitters.

Our make up was by fellow blogger Victoria - such a pleasure to meet! - and Julie Ann who made me need MAC Face & Body in my life. The best make over of the week ;) And hair was by Saints, whom I've met before and are always perfect to work with.

We had Adam Child present, who was so nice, he helped the evening's events run a lot smoother, seasoned professional. Things may have got a little hectic at some times, but as there were so many models it meant there was always at least nine others in between, so no stressful dressing for me to attend to!

I think we will definitely hold this again next year, but of course, only make it bigger and better.
