Rimmel & Maybelline are my favourites in high street foundation and their shade range is generally pretty impressive. The Wake Me Up foundation is designed to do exactly what it says, make your skin like brightened and awake. It's a much heavier coverage than I normally go for - now favouring BB Creams as my everyday staple - but this does mean your skin is near to flawless on application.
There are very (by which I mean I have yet to notice them without very detailed inspection) subtle shimmers running through the foundation, which of course add to a natural glow to the skin making everything look very healthy. It lasts amazingly well on my skin, with or without a primer I haven't noticed any fading which is amazing to me!
Priced at £8.99, but very often on offer which is when I bought mine, I can see why this product is getting amazing rave reviews and yes, I have just added to that. The only negative I have found is the SPF - although a plus point for day, if you want to transcribe your healthy glow into evening you are risking the flashback face that SPF foundations give you with flash photography. But, it's nothing a coating of bronzer can't tone down a little.
So, another positive opinion to add to your decision making. But, with all the positive hype surrounding this product, is there much of a decision?
Have you tried Rimmel Wake Me Up?

I tried it when it first came out. Didn't get on with it.
ReplyDeleteIt made me break out, and I found it dried my skin. But I've read so many good reviews about it! Just not for me. And I wasn't keen on the 'shimmer' to it.

I really love this, so much so it has become my go to foundation at the moment. I do usually use a tinted moisturiser or a light dusting of mineral foundation but I can't get over how healthy this always makes me look :) xo
ReplyDeleteI personally really like the shimmer!
