Aussie Virtual Styling Class

Last week the Aussie Angels were invited to take part in an online event. It was the virtual styling class, for either a curly style or a sleek plait. I opted for the curls and 'attended' at 6.30pm.

It entailed us following along Eugene's steps in the live video. We had the opportunity to ask questions along the way and it was a great interactive experience. With my hair freshly washed (and conveniently just trimmed!) I sat down with the Aussie goodies I'd just received and set all my tools up.

After applying oodles of the mousse and lacing the ends with the gel spray, we rough dried the hair. I never normally put in as much mousse as Eugene did, but it made the world of difference to the volume! And the gel spray seemed to help the curls stay put that little bit longer which is always my problem.

I used the Babyliss conical wand to curl, clipping each curl in place to leave it to cool. I gradually began running out of kirby grips, so the bottom layer of my hair was curled free hand and not pinned.

I finished the look with masses of hairspray and was so pleased at the finished look! It's the beachy waves that I think the majority of wavy haired fans are after! They required a little topping up the following day, but lasted well for the most part. Using some of the little tips that Eugene recommended made such a difference. The one I think made the most is spritzing the roots of the hair with a little bit of hairspray before you curl it. It gives a little bit of lift and helps the curl stay put.

Thanks to Eugene and the Aussie girls for arranging it all. I've since been curling every single day - no exaggeration! - since they last so well.

Any other angels amongst you that got involved?
