The Lee Stafford Gospel

You've heard me rambling about Lee Stafford if you're in my life or if i'm present on your Twitter feed. I've recently finished my last pot and noticed it remaining in stock in Boots, so has the fad worn off?
I never saw much about it on Blogger but did hear its praises being sung by anyone who used it - my hairdresser wasn't quite so optimistic about it when I first told her, but I have definitely seen results.

The product? Lee Stafford's Hair Growth Treatment. Obviously!
It's initially meant to be used daily, until you see results. I polished off three pots before I went down to the twice a week routine. You apply between shampoo and conditioner, leaving on for about five minutes before rinsing out.

It leaves your hair supple after the first use, so even if you don't see any more length, you'll still be having a good experience. Of course, that beautiful Lee Stafford, Thierry Mugler esque scent is there, another point for it there.

Onto the info you all really want.
No, I don't have before and after pictures because quite honestly I didn't expect to see any substantial results. Now, it may just be coincidence that my hair happened to grow when I started using this, but I can honestly say it got longer. The nearest and dearest repeatedly commented on how long my hair seems to be getting right now, before they knew I was using this wonder pot, so those results speak for themselves really.

Not sure whether I can put the blame with the recession but Staffie definitely seems to be upping his prices recently, this costs exactly £7.19 (which is even more annoying when it's out of stock while the 2 for £8 deal is on). This mounts up quickly at the rate you get through the stuff, especially if you already have thick or pretty lengthy hair. The price is the only thing I'm not going to big up to you, because otherwise I love this product.

The only reason I haven't bought another pot is solely down to the cost, and it's still tempting me again even with that in mind.

I know there are cynics reading this and I'm not even going to attempt to bring in scientific justification to prove how it works, because I don't have a clue. But, to me, it does. Call my naive, say it's all on in my head but this will definitely be a sporadic treatment appearing in my routine.

Do you follow the Stafford gospel?

Hand Model

Finally the sun is staying out in Newcastle! I really think I have SAD, I'm in such a good mood even in the most stressy situations when the sun is out.

I took colour blocking to my nails today. OPI's Do You Lilac It? -possibly my favourite nail colour - tipped with 17's Pink Grapefruit. As inspired by spring/summer trends and Jess's alternate tips yesterday.

Absolutely loving this finish. I seem to revert back to my nail biting habit whenever I have french tips on though.. meaning they peel off a whole lot sooner than normal.

On other note;
Clocked this - geddit?! - watch in New Look today and just dived in. I had a 20% off voucher so figured I could justify it. It's awfully similar to one on ASOS that is double the price.

Probably can't justify these heels I bought online after trying them on in store... But it was free delivery...
They look so much nicer on and make my legs look terrifically slender. They're available with a nude front as well but I thought blue was a little different to things already in my wardrobe.
Need to work them with an outfit to prove the bestest that they can go with just as much as the nude versions...

Will of course stop with the splurges now. Yes. I will.

70% off Motel Rocks!

I first dipped my toes into the Motel Rocks pool during sale season. I snapped up the below leopard print caged dress for just £15 down from £35 I think. I've always known Motel Rocks to have brilliant sales, which is why I'm letting you in a little early...

Fits like a glove and I got so many compliments on it on that night out and on the ensuing photos that cropped up on Facebook.

This Thursday (24th March) the Motel Rocks site is beginning their spring sale, with up to 70% off some items. I got contacted by the lovely people at Motel to give you a sneaky peek of what will be available. Click here to get a preview of the sale. Even more lines will be added before it goes live, I can't wait to see what else I can snap up!

My top picks from the preview are;

Motel Alanis Dress - Bleach Black £19

Motel Carrie Dress - Bleach Black £12!
loving the styling with knee highs.

Edwina Bodice - Black ivory polka £9

Suddenly realising I haven't taken advantage of Motel's awesome popping colour range. Everything goes with black though right?

Hope you enjoy your preview!

I'll be ready and waiting on Thursday morning to snap up some bargains.

Will you?

The Wangalike

Ever since the 2009 Alexander Wang collection, I have had heart stopping moments whenever my eyes spotted the Rocco. It was me in a bag, in my opinion anyway.

I tweeted a few weeks back that I was on the hunt for a lookalike and coincidentally Vipxo had just posted an outfit with the dream bag I was looking for, in my kind of price range.
I think I'm right to say that Twitter exploded and the eBay seller with this studded beauty did some extremeley good business.

After a few issues at Hong Kong customs, it finally arrived. Complete with dust bag and jaw dropping beauty.

Thanks to Vicky for letting me swipe her camera.
I am head over heels.

It fits oodles of crap in it, the majority of which doesn't need to be housed here, but it is, because it can take it.
It feels quality and other than one minor stitching overlap, it looks quality.

This is Alexander. He is happy to meet you.

Verdict: On Trend

I think I'm right in saying all the fashion weeks are wrapping up. The trends that populated the catwalks are trickling into magazine editorials and beginning to dominate the racks in all the stores. While I might not be jumping whole heartedly on the colour blocking trend, I'm here to discuss make up.

Colour blocking seems to be making its way onto the face, yellow eyes dominating the look. As with previous seasons, I think the only wearable 'make up' look for us normaltons is the nails.
I'm sure some will pull off Osman's inner yellow corners with flair, but for me I'll leave it to the pros even if I am slightly tempted to see what it would look like.

The beauty pages of the latest magazines are flooded with the new seasons trends, but I just don't see it taking off. So what I want to know is, do you follow these trends to the tee? Can anyone other than the slender models tackle yellow eyeshadow, blue lipstick or bold blue shadow without making it look clownish?

I will be trying some of the nails out, particularly Sophy Robson at Giles with the doodle eyes. Otherwise the yellow eye-shadow can be reserved for fancy dress.

Which new season beauty trends will you be trying out?

No7 Exquisite Curl

Getting my curl on isn't high on my list of priorities in a mascara. I'm looking for thick masses of lashes which is why, when approached with the offer of trialling the new No7 Exquisite Curl mascara, I was a little sceptical to the results. As you probably gathered, it aims to give you jaw dropping curl, without manoeuvring the tortuous curlers.

The wand confirmed my love for synthetic bristles, instead of the plastic spikes that seem to be dominating the mascara market right now. It seems to separate the lashes so much easier and clumps are minimal if any. The bristles are formed into a curve and fit to the eye with ease, making coating each lash easy in one coat.

As far as wear goes, it lasts, without going crispy in the slightest, even with numerous layers. It is an absolute dream to remove, whether removing eye make up then the rest, or just taking the whole face off it can be done without needing numerous cotton balls or wipes or leaving black smears around the eyes.

I was impressed with the ease in which it curled the lashes. It instantly lifted them as soon as I applied it. My lashes have a natural flick to them, no curl, but it remained for the day and I didn't feel it was necessary to precede it with curlers.

No7 seems to have upped their prices recently, although the £5 off vouchers are still floating around, I think the regular price of £13 for what is still a 'drug store' mascara might be pushing it a bit, especially with other curling mascaras on the market for £6-£7 I'm not sure it's worth it without the money off.

It is currently on offer where you will receive a free eye palette with every Exquisite Curl purchase, making the price slightly more acceptable.

Bare lashes

One coat of No7 Exquisite Curl

So - the decision is in your hands. Is the above curl with the high end price?
