With my following of fashion blogs (along with the increasing amount that seem to be popping it up) it has become custom to write a personal update along with outfit of the day posts, a few paragraphs that I would have usually ignored are holding my attention and I'm getting to know the people behind the clothes.

It is fact that we read 75% slower online than we do in magazines or papers, so while a full page in Elle magazine could be read with ease, the same amount online may leave us uninterested considerably sooner. It's no wonder that the summary posts littering beauty blogs are interspersed with Tumblr pictures in order to keep the reader interested.

Of course, with every verdict post, I now want to know your thoughts. There's no need to hide away, after all, sites like We Heart It were basically said up to remove all personal opinions by way of writing.
There are now blogspot bloggers, only posting photo updates or various collections or fashion shoots which makes for easy 'reading' when I have time for a quick browse.
So, are you an avid reader of every word or are you only interested in pretty pictures?
All ironic picture breaks were lovingly taken from various Tumblr accounts.
All about the words, always have been. Pictures are important, but they're not a point of view.
ReplyDeleteOoh love this post, it's something I always think about. If I do a text only post I get hardly any comments which makes me think people don't want to read, they just want to look at photos. For the most part, I'm the same. After a long day at work you don't want to read War and Peace unless you've got a vested interest in that person. XX
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI've given you an award on my blog, come and check it out! :)

I love to read interesting, engaging text pieces, and I love to look at fantastic photography. Often one without the other isn't enough to catch my attention or make me leave a comment. One of my pet hates is constant reposting of We Heart It imagery. I find those posts really dull. x
ReplyDeleteThis is a really interesting thought. I've just started a new blog and am trying to work out which type of post to go for. I've had the most comments on a post with tons of writing AND tons of photos so it's hard to judge! I will watch and see what everyone comments on here!
ReplyDeleteplease check it out and follow if you like it!!
